Privacy
We know what it costs to write your situation into a text box. This page says what happens to it.
Effective: 22 September 2026
The short version
- What you write is tied to your account and to nothing else. It is not linked to an advertising profile or to any record outside Dahlia.
- We never sell or rent your data. There is no advertising business here, so there is no commercial reason for your information to leave.
- We do not hand your information to USCIS, ICE, or any other government agency. A court order we are legally required to obey is the only thing that could change that.
- You can delete your account and everything in it. After 24 hours it is gone permanently.
- Dahlia is operated by Dahlia Apps LLC.
Your conversations are tied only to your account
What you write is encrypted, and it is associated with your account and nothing else. It is not attached to an advertising identifier, a data broker profile, or any record outside Dahlia.
We never sell or rent your data
There is no advertising business here, so there is no commercial reason for your information to leave. This is not a promise we have to hold against an incentive. The business is built so the incentive does not exist.
We do not hand your information to the government
We do not give your information to USCIS, to ICE, or to any other government agency. The only thing that could change that is a court order we are legally required to obey. If that happens we will tell you, unless the court forbids us from telling you. That is something a court can do.
You can delete everything, permanently
Deleting your account deletes what is in it. It is not hidden, not deactivated, and not retained in a form we could still be asked for. Because deleting an account by mistake is easy and irreversible, there is a 24 hour window during which signing in offers you the chance to get it back. After those 24 hours it is permanent.
What we collect
- Your account
- An email address, so you can sign in and so you can come back to what you asked.
- What you write
- Your questions and Dahlia's answers, kept so you can read them again.
- Documents you upload
- The files you put in your vault, stored privately and readable only by you. We log every time one is uploaded, downloaded, or deleted, so you can see that access yourself.
- No advertising or tracking
- Dahlia has no advertising pixels, no session recording, no heat maps, and no third party analytics. There is nothing to consent to, which is why there is no banner asking you to.
How long we keep things
This section describes what happens today, not what we intend to do later. If that changes, this page changes with it and carries a new date.
- When you delete your account
- It becomes unreadable immediately, including to us through the app. You have 24 hours to get it back by signing in. After that it is deleted permanently and neither you nor we can recover it.
- Documents you upload on AskDahlia
- There is no schedule. They are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
- Documents uploaded through MyDahlia
- A document uploaded on MyDahlia that is not used for a translation order is deleted 30 days after upload. Any document with a deletion date shows that date in your vault before it arrives, so nothing disappears without notice.
- Your conversations and assessments
- There is no schedule. They are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
- Security and audit records
- Records of sign-ins, document access, and administrative actions are kept so we can tell whether your data was touched and by whom.
